Zap Set-Up Guide for Inverters
How to connect an inverter to Sourceful Energy with Zap.
1. Locate your inverters network settings
Locate your inverters network settings: IP address, Unit ID and Port Number.
You can usually find them on your inverter's display or you can ask your installer.
Write them down, you'll need them later on.
Is your inverter is supported by Sourceful Energy? See our list of supported inverters.
If Modbus TCP is not enabled, ask your installer or check our configuration guides for inverters.
2. Connect Your Zap to a Power Source
You can power Zap in one of two ways:
Option 1: P1 (RJ12) Port
Plug Zap directly into the P1 port on your electricity meter.
Option 2: USB-C Power
If the P1 port isn’t available, power Zap using any USB-C source - a phone charger, computer, or your inverter’s USB-C port.
3. Check Your Zap's LEDs
After connecting Zap to a power source, the green power LED and blue status LED should light up on your Zap.
Can't see the lights? Check our help centre for troubleshooting tips.
4. Download the Sourceful App
Next, download the Sourceful Energy app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
When the app is installed, open it, create an account and follow the on-screen instructions to register your Zap.
