Zap Set-Up Guide for Electricity Meters
How to connect an electricity meter to Sourceful Energy with Zap.
1. Enable the P1 port (RJ12) on Your Energy Meter
Ensure the P1 (RJ12) data is enabled by your grid operator, such as Ellevio. You might be able to do this via their website. If not, give them a call and they can enable it for you remotely.
2. Connect Your Zap to Your Energy Meter
When your grid operator has confirmed that the port data is enabled, connect your Zap to the energy meter using the P1(RJ12) input port.
3. Check Your Zap's LEDs
After connecting Zap to the port, the green power LED and blue status LED should light up on your Zap.
4. Verify Data Transfer
The green data LED blinks when data is being received from your meter by your Zap. This step might take a few minutes.
5. Download our App
Download the Sourceful Energy app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
When the app is installed, open it, create an account and follow the on-screen instructions to register your Zap.
See our more detailed Account Creation and Zap Configuration guides if you need more help with these steps.

6. You're Finished
You might need to wait a few minutes before you see any data from your meter. When Zap and your meter is fully connected and working you'll see:
Zap: Green Power LED: Solid on
Zap: Blue Data LED: Blinks every ~10 seconds
Zap: Blue Status LED: Double-blink pattern
App: Shows real-time energy data
After successful setup:
Bluetooth automatically disconnects
Zap switches to WiFi mode
Data flows to Sourceful Energy Network
